Periwinkles Sing

Periwinkles Sing

Evergreen winter
delight, spring periwinkles
sing, “Awaken now!”

On the sunny side of the house, the periwinkle greens shine all year long, and in spring the star shaped flowers bloom after the quince. Walking around with the dog from the front of the house, I turn the corner and smile! “Spring is here! Everything will begin to grow!” It’s such a joyous, freeing feeling, as if the world suddenly were better. I hope these photos from my yard on April 6th bring that feeling to you.

It’s close to Mother’s Day, so jump over to this post, Art for You Mother’s Day, for a downloadable coloring page that could be a card for your mother with an artwork sketch by Sheri Edwards.
