Once a Seed
Once a Seed
From a small seed
I grew
Where summer’s heat
beats down
I stretch my arms
for shade
I am old, yet still I
cool you.

The Story

Even though it's winter, it's grand branches reaching tall remind me of what I am thankful for from this tree's just being. And so that's the poem for today-- a winter tree as remembered from summer. I remember its shade in the heat of the summer.
a tree's endurance and purpose — in winter, I remember summer
