The Birch Tree

Birches

Etched white bark, papery thin

Flaking off in gentle curls

Perfect spots for chrysalis

Of moths and butterflies

Who feast upon the seeping sap

Along with other insects too

Providing so a feast for birds:

birch trees are paradise.
