Against the Gun

Our land: all love the peace on which we thrive

From coast to coast each lapped by deep blue sea

Where songs and hymns of times gone by derive

Where daylight wakes the song of chickadee

And dewdrops drip from daisies blessed by sun

Whose morning rays bid dark of night to flee

As we of peace arose against the gun

That triggers lies of defense misconstrued

Instead use words respecting everyone.
