Wind in the Hawthorn

Wind in the Hawthorn

Branches waving to the sky

In wind whipping cherry blossoms

into clouds of scurrying pink

Dancing down the street;

But not my little hawthorn’s

Bright pink and white layered spheres-

buds of petals cupped one to each

So the wind its hold will not defeat.
