Threadleaf Daisy

The Photo:

One of 460 species of Erigeron, a form [herb] of the Aster family. Often called threadleaf or fleabane.

The Thought:

Yellow, white, or pink, I love these clusters of daisy-like wildflowers that dot the shrub-steppe. Usually they are yellow, white, or this soft pink/lavender.

I was pleased to learn that butterflies love them and that while some people snub their noses at them, many of us find them delightful additions to our gardens.

When Scott and I walk with Guthrie through the hills around our area, we always stop and say, “Look, here are more of them!” We never just walk by. We pause and enjoy the many rays extending from the bright yellow centers, all the plants gathered in a little clump that seems to welcome our visit.

Yes, we love them for their colorful clumps adorning the sagebrush and bunchgrass lands.
