Turkey Tower
Turkey Tower
They flew in from the hillside
where they waddled to the top
perhaps noticing coyote
lurking where he’d stopped
hiding in the bunchgrass
awaiting to catch
one fat, fresh turkey
he’d hoped he could snatch
but away they all flew
to the tower so tall
like a tree that is safety
safe from coyote, all.
