Once Upon a Joy

Once, in our park,

Filled with autumn’s palette,

that painted my heart with joy—

Arrived a darkness giving way

And stole its caretaker away

Away from his care and tend

And fix and mend

Skilled as nature’s doctor

once, in our park.
