If Only, Two Worlds
Two Worlds
If only
Rippled reflections
Of an autumn day
With yellow cottonwood leaves
In the blue sky
Bobbing with gentle waves
Opened the other world
Where messages to memories
Of lost loved ones
Flow lovingly into their peace
And we in our sorrow
Hear in return
Their soft songs
Of new life
Soothing ours with their joy.
