Catching Snow
Catching Snow
Bobbing and turning
this way and that
Dark-eyed junco jumps
From branch to branch
On the ever green of forest trees
whose arms outstretch in winter’s freeze-
Flexing in the winds that blow
Holding strong for catching snow
Junco hops and dusts off the snow
A game is played: only two know -
the evergreen and little junco.
