Stunning view below
the dam,
see the sunlit hills
of eroded basalt
on the high plateau
far above us
beckoning a journey
to the top.

Midway view up
the winding way,
see the walled water
held seemingly still
wanting to wash
the sunlit town
just below its
penned in power.

Sunny view atop
the hill,
hear the warblers
in the sage and yarrow
singing as we gaze back
down, and the wind
laughs at our smallness,
which this journey
has taught us
in stunning views.
