Moments

We walk along the shore,

waves whisking the sand

softly into reflections of themselves.

We breathe in the freshness 

that flows from the wisp 

of the wind wrapping 

around us.

And in that mindful 

moment we notice

a speck, a color, a shape 

to take into our hands,

a token to remember

we place on the porch:

a moment in memory.
