the watch on my wrist
is now the phone in my pocket
connecting anywhere
capturing the now
watching the world
the moments of life
the beauty of today
a sunflower stunning
in the evening sun
once watched in the past
before watches and pockets
when watchers of time watched the sun
and the seasons
connecting in story
capturing their now
the moments of life
in laughter and lore
together 'round the family fire
stories of times gone before,
watched through the evening mist.
