Shadows of Summer
Shadows of Summer
As winter shadows
Fall on slippery snow
Melting and freezing
With the north wind’s breath,
I remember the shadows of summer
On shades of green
Offering respite from sun’s searing
Heat from what must be the breath
Of the south wind
I think.
