In the river running
beneath the surface swimming
are dragons forever living
see the tail snapping
leaving a whirlpool swirling?

The grandkids with grampa and gramma parked their lawn chairs above the river to point out the dragons as they passed by hidden below the surface; only the whirlpools indicated their presence as their tails navigated them through the current. Smaller dragons created smaller whirlpools. It was always fun to discover a mother/child side by side, or perhaps a father training a young one, their swirling creating several twirling pools in groups.
