Our Daily Ritual

Morning conversations on the couch

Coffee, two cups-

One black, he;

One cream, me;

Time, each morning

A couch, read

Conversation, indeed.

And a gift becomes a new ritual while learning 

Last year, a gift-- a glass to toast

a teaching life I loved most,

celebrate daily, still learning engrossed:

lemon, one slice
water, no ice
retired, new life

Celebrate!
Cogitate!
Create!
